Shock Testing
Shock testing is a series of shocks that are conducted to the Light-pod fixture in order to document the performance of the fixture during a wide range of shocks at various physical axis points on the fixture. These tests are designed to verify the fixture may operate in a shock based environment. The scope of the test procedure is to assure the compliance of the Light-Pod Light Fixture to the applicable requirements of MIL-S-901D.

The Light-Pod fixture is subjected to a total of nine (9) shock blows in accordance with the referenced test specifications. The Light will be subjected to a visual inspection after each shock blow for evidence of any discrepancies such as visible cracks, loose fasteners, deformation, or broken parts. In order to pass this test, the Light-Pod fixture will be monitored during the test and the fixture will not exhibit any malfunction, specified indications beyond the tolerances indicated in the individual equipment or subsystem specification when subjected to the spike test specified in MIL-S-901D. |
