Advanced LED Electronics

At the heart of the Light-Pod fixture is the most advanced LED based driver available on the market today. Every design aspect of the LED driver replicates redundant fail safe circuitry that provides owners of the Light-Pod fixture a level of operational quality with less than a .05% failure rate in the field. The driver is designed into three separate integrated circuit board designs that are all providing constant monitoring and constant current to the LED light engines at all time. Each integrated circuit board controls a critical function to the driver;

Integrated Conducted Filtering System

The first sub assembly component to the Light-Pod LED driver is a custom designed proprietary conducted filtering system that acts as the gateway between commercial power (120VAC) and the main power switching supply within the driver. The integrated conducted filtering system is designed to act as an Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) filter as well as a transient filter which will protect the main components of the driver from voltage irregularities or voltage spikes on the main power line. This gateway can protect the main driver components from transient loads, as well as an entire range of EMI susceptibility frequencies. The Light-Pod LED Driver can withstand 750

Advanced “Buck Converter” Efficiency Design

The third sub assembly component to the Light-Pod LED driver is a custom designed proprietary buck converter that provides the highest efficiency and power factor. This unique design

 


enables the PFC to provide spread spectrum energy dispersal wave forms to the LED driver. The combination of this pure power as well as 4 independent custom wound inductors enables the Light-Pod driver to operate at power factor of .99 and at an efficiency of 97%. Again these efficiencies are the highest efficiencies available in the commercial market for any LED driver.spikes (applied one per minute) of over 1250 Volts applied directly to the driver. Integrated Power Factor Correction (PFC)

The second sub assembly component to the Light-Pod LED driver is a custom designed proprietary microprocessor based power factor correction chipset that enables the driver to clean the incoming power source and generate minimal electromagnetic interference (EMI).  The Light-Pod LED driver's PFC meets the highest component standard for quality while providing the lowest harmonic distortion compliance for any LED driver on the market today. The harmonic distortion of the Light-Pod LED driver is below 3% for any single harmonic and below 5% in Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). Light-Pod LED drivers are tested by 3rd party military approved laboratories to the 333 Harmonic for accuracy. These ultra low harmonics provide little interference to other electronic devices in mission critical environments.
